Resumen

El tratamiento del pie equino varo congénito (PEVC) cambió de manera radical con el Método de Ponseti (MP) gracias a los excelentes resultados obtenidos. En contraposición, el resultado estético y funcional de los pies sometidos a cirugías extensas es devastador a largo plazo. La técnica de las manipulaciones, enyesado, tenotomía del tendón de Aquiles y el uso de la férula de abducción se explican en detalle. Así mismo se resaltan los errores y sus complicaciones en la técnica y las otras alternativas de tratamiento existentes.
