Introduction: The Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) is a self-reported outcome assessment. It is a tool that provides the patient perception in a brief, easy, and friendly manner when compared to other outcome measurements that are time-consuming on a regular basis. The SANE score has not yet been validated in Colombian Spanish.
Objective: The aim is to validate the Colombian Spanish version of SANE in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.
Methodology: The SANE was translated and adapted into Colombian Spanish. The content validity of the final version was determined through expert judgment. Concurrent validity with the Lysholm scale was assessed in 113 patients with ACL injuries. Finally, to establish test-retest reliability, the final version was administered 7–14 days after the first administration (51 patients).
Results: The experts considered the SANE in Colombian Spanish to be relevant and clear, and the content validity index was 0.8. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the SANE and the Lysholm Scale was 0.577 (p<0.001). Regarding test-retest reliability, the ICC was 0.89 (95% CI: 0.81–0.93) and the Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.805 (p<0.001) between the first and second administrations of the SANE.
Conclusion: The SANE in Colombian Spanish demonstrated excellent content validity, high concurrent validity, and good test-retest reliability in patients with ACL injuries.
